Bucharest, May 6th, 2025
Today, Romfilatelia and the Stamp Factory welcomed a group of 11th grade students from the Petre Ionescu Muscel Domnești Technological High School, in Argeș County, who participated in their first lesson on postage stamps. The event was part of a series of events dedicated to Romanian Postage Stamp Day, established by the Romanian Parliament through Law 62/2024
The students viewed the entire range of equipment used in printing postage stamps. The machines that caught their interest were the Heidelberg printing press and the machines used to perforate postage stamps or to produce postal stationeries (correspondence envelopes with printed stamp).
The moment of the visit was immortalized and reproduced on a calendar given to each student, thus representing a pleasant memory.
After finishing their tour of the Stamp Factory, the high school students continued their visit at the Romfilatelia head office, where they were greeted with philatelic surprises, sweets, and lots of interesting information about postage stamps.
Stamps always tell a story and take you on the most beautiful journeys, where you don’t need a visa or passport. They represent a whole universe of culture, education, and values. Students from #PetreIonescuMuscelDomneștiTechnologicalHighSchool met the mascot #Marky, and representatives from #Romfilatelia presented #storyofthestamp, his journey from creation, printing, and letter to the post box.
The Romfilatelia team was delighted to promote Romanian postage stamps once again, in the hope that philately will have a bright future and become a hobby among young people, who will discover ‘a world in a stamp’.
