“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10,11)
And we wait for the carols… and the star, a symbol reminding us of the Magi who travelled with gifts to the place where child Jesus and His Mother were, and also of the star present in the Icon of Our Lord’s Birth.
“The star is shining in the East,
Emperor’s star is appearing.
The star is shining brightly,
Announcing the Holy Birth.
When the Magi saw the star,
All three started walking towards it.
As the star taught them
They all worshiped Christ.“
(carol – The star is shining in the East)
