During 3 days, in the period of May 3rd – May 5th , the German city Essen was the the Eurpean capital of the philately. With a tradition of 31 years, the International Stamp Fair Essen – one of the most old exhibition events of such kind in the world inaugurated in 1976 and was biannual until the last year, when the increasing success determined the organizers to schedule the Fair yearly.

Philatelic Exhibition on the occasion of the National Day of Romania

On the 1st of December 2004, on the occasion of the National Day of Romania, in the capital of Kuwait took place a "philatelic treat". Here were exhibited postage stamps representatives for the image of our country which illustrated different themes: national suits, important buildings, churches, famous paintings, personalities. The exhibition was organized with the support of His Excellency, Mr. Volodea Nistor, the ambassador of Romania in Kuwait. Among others, payed a visit to the exhibition the ambassador of Ukraine in Kuwait and the State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Minister, Ahmed al Jarallah.

The philatelic fair is a traditional manifestation where almost 200 participants from all over the world gather in the aim of promoting and trading philatelic products.

Philatelic Exhibition EFIRO 2004

EFIRO 2004, the third edition of the most prestigious philatelic exhibition from Romania (E-xpoziţie FI-latelică RO-mana/Exhibition-Philately-Romania) is taking place between September 16th and September 30th, under the auspices of the Romanian Prime Minister, Mr. Adrian Nastase. The official opening shall take place on Thursday, September 16th, at 12:30, At the Palace of Parliament, in the „Constantin Brancusi” Hall. The opening shall take place in the presence of the representatives of the Romanian Government and of the accredited diplomatic body, as well as in the presence of the postal administrations members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), numerous representatives of the business, cultural and mass-media environment.

The KIDEX 2004 Fair

Between June 01st-06th 2004, Romfilatelia took part to the “Children Fair - KIDEX 2004”, organized in Bucharest, at the Romexpo exhibition center, where children related stamps have been exhibited for sale. At the stand, the children drawing contest “The Little Picasso” has been organized; its mission was to determine the mascot of the philatelic exhibition EFIRO 2004 (www.efiro.ro).The winner of the contest was Diana Alexandra Ardelean from Bucharest, aged 10, who has received as an award a catalog containing all the stamps issued in 2003.

Collector’s Fair

This year, at the fair organized at World Trade Plaza between June 5th and 6th, Romfilatelia enjoyed the appreciation of the visitors and f the participants, our stand being visited by numerous collectors and not only by them.
