ROMANIA - 7th place in the world
Between 21st - 25th of October 2009 in Rome, Italy, took place the International Philatelic Exhibition ITALY 2009 where the UPU International Bureau and FIP organized an international competition class for the designated operators of UPU members countries and their territories.
Romania, through Romfilatelia, participated once again in this competition class with the exhibit People, Actions and Events including postage stamps and philatelic products issued in the last 3 years, until December 31st 2008.
The collections entered for this competition class marked an improvement on those entered for Efiro 2008, Bern 2008 and Luoyang 2009, both in terms of their quality and their content.
Following the analyses of the evaluation Committee, Romania took the 7th place, with 61 points from 100. The first three places were occupied by Spain (76 points - 1st place), Portugal (71 points - 2nd place) and Russian Federation (66 points - 3rd place).
At this contest participated 20 postal administrations, UPU members from all over the world.
